The last week witnessed the launch of the Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 and the long due Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6. To add a bit more excitement, a few spy shots of the upcoming motorcycles also emerged on the internet. And just like every Sunday, we are back with our weekly report to give you a quick lowdown on the five most noteworthy bike stories from the last week.
Yamaha FZ25, FZS 25 BS6 launched
Yamaha launched the BS6-compliant version of its quarter-litre offering, the FZ25, in India. It is also accompanied by a new S variant for those who want more aesthetic drama. While the former is priced at Rs 1.52 lakh, the latter costs Rs 1.57 lakh. Yamaha has not only updated the motorcycle’s 250cc, single-cylinder engine, but it has also bestowed the FZ25 with a more radical front end. Meanwhile, the S version gets additional elements such as a taller visor, knuckle guards and golden alloy wheels.
Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6 launched
After releasing multiple teasers of the Mojo 300 BS6, Mahindra finally launched the motorcycle with prices starting at Rs 2 lakh. While the design of the bike remains unchanged, there are four new colour options which bring along a breath of fresh air. Powering the motorcycle is a 295cc, single-cylinder engine which makes 25.35bhp and 25.6Nm. It is suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock while the disc brakes are assisted by dual-channel ABS. While deliveries of the Mojo 300 BS6 are yet to commence, bookings are open at Rs 5,000.
KTM 250 Duke spied with LED headlamps
The 2020 KTM 250 Duke was spied with a full-LED headlamp which is identical to that of the 390 Duke. Notably, the existing version of the bike gets a halogen lamp which is shared with the new 200 Duke. Reportedly, this is also going to hike the price of the bike from the current Rs 2.05 lakh. Rest of the aspects of the motorcycle will remain unchanged. An official announcement about this update is likely to take place soon.
2020 BMW G 310 GS BS6 spied again
BMW has been actively testing the refreshed version of its entry-level adventure motorcycle, the G 310 GS, in India. Two test mules of the bike were spotted out in the open for the second time. Besides the mandatory revisions in its 313cc engine for cleaner emissions, the motorcycle will feature a redesigned front end with an LED headlamp, as against a conventional unit in the previous model. Interestingly, the price of the G 310 GS BS6 is likely to remain the same as the BS4 model.
Royal Enfield Service on Wheels initiative
Royal Enfield has announced a new ‘Service on Wheels’ initiative which is aimed to deliver the motorcycle service facility at the customer’s doorstep. Also, taking into account the risk of COVID-19, the technicians will undertake all the necessary safety precautions. The company has deployed a total of 800 purpose-built Royal Enfield motorcycles for the same across India. These bikes are equipped to carry enough tools and spare parts to deliver 80 per cent of the typical service and repair work. Customers can avail this service by contacting their nearest RE dealership.
