- Electric CB125R under development
- Gets the same design
- Could be unveiled in a few years
Like other motorcycle brands around the world, Honda too is working on a few electric motorcycle projects. In fact, details of one such project was leaked recently.
According to the design patent drawings, the Japanese manufacturer is working on a small electric motorcycle that is based on the CB125R. It could be launched as an electric version of this bike. The overall styling, frame, suspension and wheels are from the CB125R. This clearly says that Honda wants to use this proven motorcycle to build their new electric motorcycle.
Interestingly, the company has taken a different design approach with the EV. While majority of the brands are designing EVs with a futuristic look, Honda is taking a neo-retro approach with this project. Maybe it believes there’s a big market for electric motorcycles that has some retro styling.
Honda hasn’t talked about this project in the past, and we don’t think they will in the future. But we can expect some more details of this EV to be leaked soon.
