Honda Hornet 2.0: Top 5 Highlights

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the Hornet 2.0. The newest product from the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand competes in the 180cc-200cc segment of the Indian market and it rivals the likes of Hero Xtreme 200R, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200. Here we list the top five highlights of the new Honda Hornet 2.0.

Design

The motorcycle features a naked roadster styling that is complemented by a sharp design for the headlight, X-shaped taillight, a muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, short exhaust and an engine cowl. The premium feature list on the motorcycle comprises of full-LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster. The digital display offers a wide range of information, including a gear-position indicator while the switchgear features a hazard light switch.

Colours

The motorcycle is available in four colours – Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.

Engine

The Hornet 2.0 uses a 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor. Linked to a five-speed transmission, the engine is tuned to produce 17bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. Honda claims that the motor has been tuned to deliver good mid-range torque.

Hardware

The motorcycle packs premium hardware that comprises upside-down telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the suspension duties. The braking setup includes 276mm front and 220mm rear petal-type discs on both wheels while the safety net is provided by a single-channel ABS. The 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tyres.

Honda Hornet 2.0 Tail lamp

Price

Honda has priced the Hornet 2.0 at Rs 1,26,921. In comparison, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V are available at Rs 1,29,530 and Rs 1,28,550 respectively. The Xtreme 200R is yet to receive a BS6 upgrade and thus its prices are not available.
