When Piaggio launched the Aprilia SR150 in India, it changed the way the Indian market perceived the scooter segment. The market then was only about fuel efficiency scooters but now things are different. With the SR150, the Italian manufacturer has opened a whole new segment of stylish and performance scooters. The success of the SR150 made the company launch a racy version with some additions and changes.
New colour and decals
The best way to differentiate the SR150 and the SR150 Race is via the paint scheme. The standard SR150 is available in black and white colours, whereas the SR150 Race gets a new grey with green paint schemes. The decals are slightly different too.
Wheels and rear springs.
To go with the overall race appeal, Piaggio has dipped both the 14-inch wheels in red for the SR150 Race. The SR150 model gets black wheels. The rear shock absorber springs gets red finish too.
Coloured calliper
The front brake calliper gets golden touch and it looks quite awesome. This is usually seen on motorcycles.
CVT retuning
The gear ratios on the the SR150 Race's CVT have been changed to make this scooter quicker at lower revs.
Price
There’s some difference in pricing between the two scooters. The Aprilia SR150 costs Rs 70,288 (ex-showroom Mumbai), which is Rs 2,338 more than the standard SR150.
