TVS’ flagship motorcycle, the Apache RR310, has impressed us in many ways. In fact, our editor, Vikrant Singh, has been using it every single day to commute to office and can’t get enough of it. While it has always been positioned as a race bike, its friendly ergonomics and excellent ride quality make it a daily motorcycle. But TVS decided to make this Apache racier by unveiling the RR 310 Race Cup Bike. Here, we tell you the five major differences between the standard and race variant.
1: Exhaust
TVS has done away with the large and bulky black exhaust and replaced it with a race unit. This has helped in reducing the weight of the component and has also improved the overall performance.
2: ECU
The electronic-control unit on the RR Cup bikes gets race tuning. Due to this, the performance and acceleration characteristics of the bike have improved, resulting in better race timings on the track.
3: Footpegs
The passenger footpegs have been removed for the RR Cup bike. In fact, the rider side gets full steel pegs instead, on the unit which has rubber inserts.
4: Induction system
The induction system has been improved for better flow of air into the engine. TVS refuses to comment on the power output of this motorcycle for now
5: The unfortunate truth
You can’t buy it! None of the Apache RR Cup bikes are on sale. It’s only for race purposes. So the only way to ride one is either participate in the next year’s selection round or join TVS Racing, the entity that takes care of motorsports.
