TVS has just unveiled its rally-spec NTorq ahead of the Indian National Rally Championship that is being held in Nashik this weekend. The NTorq is known for its styling, comfort and smartphone technologies, but with the NTorq SXR, things have gone to a different level. In order to make your life easy, we tell you the top five differences between the mass production and the race-spec versions.
1: Engine
TVS refused to say reveal the displacement of the NTorq SXR for reasons unknown to us. But they did reveal its power figure which is at 20bhp. It also gets race tuned intake and exhaust systems along with optimized ignition system.
2: Top speed
While we haven’t done a top speed run on the NTorq 125, it definitely won’t clock 120kmph and above like the Ntorq SXR. To give you a better perspective, a 160cc motorcycle will reach 120kmph after trying really hard.
3: Suspension
To perform extremely well in the tough terrains, the Ntorq SXR is equipped with race tuned hydraulic system. The NTorq 125 on the other hand gets the traditional telescopic system in the front and gas filled coil spring shocks at the rear.
4: Tyres
Rallies are all about riding on dirt roads most of the time and for that there’s a need of tyres that can grip well. So TVS has given the NTorq SXR knobby tyres. But these are extremely difficult to live with on the road. The Ntorq 125 gets TVS tyres which are quite grippy on the roads.
5: Livery
The NTorq SXR gets the TVS racing livery and that looks outstanding. The usage of stickers at the right place and the presence of knobby tyres makes the scooter look very sporty.
