Ducati India have launched the 2019 Scrambler Icon in the country with a price tag of Rs 7.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). Now that is a premium of nearly Rs 38,000 over the outgoing model. We bring to you the five highlights of the upgraded, 2019 Ducati Scrambler Icon.
Styling
The 2019 Ducati Scrambler Icon has the same retro-character of its predecessor. However, it comes with slight visual tweaks that give it a fresher and modern appeal. So there is the LED DRL housed in a circular headlamp cowl, new covers for the exhaust canister and pipes along with redesigned tank side panels. The alloys too have been worked on and have a neat-looking machine-finish to them.
Lighter clutch assembly
Powering the 2019 Scrambler Icon is the same 803cc, air-cooled, L-twin engine as the previous bike. This motor produces 73bhp of power and 67Nm of torque and is still mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Nevertheless, the 2019 Scrambler Icon is equipped with a hydraulic clutch assembly for lighter clutch lever pulls. Ducati has also fitted the bike with adjustable levers; both for the clutch and brake.
Different switchgear
The new Scrambler Icon comes with a different set of switchgear for 2019. And as we found out while testing the bike in Thailand, the quality of the switchgear has been improved. It is easy-to-reach and gets a push-down toggle for ignition.
Upgraded electronics package
One of the most essential upgrades on the 2019 Scrambler Icon is the addition of the fuel gauge and gear indicator in the instrument cluster. Besides that, Ducati has equipped the Icon's electronics package with a cornering ABS unit.
New paint scheme
To give the bike a fresher appeal, Ducati is offering the motorcycle in an 'Atomic Tangerine' paint scheme that goes well with the black frame. It is also available in the classic yellow paint scheme that is unique to the Scrambler Icon.
