Making its place in the premium quarter-litre segment of motorcycles, Suzuki has introduced the Gixxer SF 250 in the country. Touted as a sports tourer, the Gixxer SF 250 is a faired motorcycle with a comfortable riding stance. Suzuki has priced the motorcycle at Rs 1.7 lakhs ex-showroom, Delhi, and is available with the choice of two matte metallic colour options. Fresh Design
While looks are a subjective matter, the Gixxer SF 250 is a fully-faired motorcycle that is definitely not an ugly looking one. Yes, the front might be looking a bit odd due to the design of the headlamp, but with time, it is a design that should be well-perceived by buyers. Besides that, the Gixxer SF 250 carries a smooth flowing design which transitions from the fairing to the fuel tank and ends with a nicely sculpted tail section. Suzuki has opted for an uncluttered look with the minimalistic use of decals limited to only the bike’s name, which is a nice thing. The Gixxer SF 250 is available with the choice of two colour options - Matte Metallic Platinum Silver and Matte Metallic Black.
All-new Engine
The 249cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor powering the Gixxer Sf 250 has been developed keeping in mind the road conditions in India, as per Suzuki. The engine features SOCS (Suzuki Oil Cooling System) technology that has been derived from Suzuki’s MotoGP learnings. This cooling system has allowed them to achieve good performance whilst riding in the city traffic even as the makers have kept its overall weight in check. In case of its specs, the motor is rated to produce a peak power of 26.1bhp at 9000rpm and max torque of 22.6Nm at 7500rpm. All this power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
LED headlamp
With vehicle lighting systems getting more advanced, Suzuki has equipped the Gixxer SF 250 with an all-LED setup for the headlamp. The company claims, the design of the headlamp assembly provides a bright beam with a long and wide field of vision.
Riding Triangle
Suzuki has marketed the Gixxer SF 250 as a sports tourer, which means, even though the motorcycle features a full-fairing it still offers a comfortable riding stance. The bike features clip-on bars, step-seat configuration and mildly rear-set footpegs.
Digital Instrument Console
The Gixxer SF 250 packs an all-digital instrument console that has been lifted from its smaller sibling, the Gixxer SF. However, Suzuki has given the unit an updated layout along with a negative display. The meter displays information like speedometer, rpm meter, fuel gauge, clock, trip meters and a gear position indicator.
