The next generation Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has been long overdue. The company had updated its entire old 350 line-up with a new engine and design, but the Bullet 350 was yet to receive its major updates, and it will soon now. Royal Enfield will launch the next generation Bullet 350 on 30 August, and in this story, we will tell you a few things you should know about this upcoming motorcycle.
Styling
When the new Classic 350 was being designed, the top honcho had asked the designers not to redesign the new bike significantly because the old bike used to sell for its modern retro styling. Hence, the new Classic 350 looks exactly like the old one. The same story could be repeated for the new Bullet 350. India loved the old Bullet for its brand, exhaust sound, and appearance. The new Bullet 350 is expected to look similar to the older one, although it will get new and modern paint schemes.
Engine
The new Bullet 350 will also get the same 350cc engine that powers the Hunter 350, Classic 350, and Meteor 350. This motor makes around 20bhp of peak power and 27Nm of peak torque. The gearbox will be the same five-speed one, and there won't be any change in the overall performance delivery of the new Bullet 350.
Exhaust
The older Bullet range was known for its typical loud exhaust sound. This particular aspect made the motorcycle extremely famous and aspirational. It reached a point where most Indians were curious about the exhaust sound rather than the fuel efficiency. There's a high chance that the new Bullet 350 gets the most differentiated exhaust sound among the new 350s. From the teaser video, it is clear that the Bullet 350 does have a throaty sound at idling.
Brand
While Bullet as a brand is well known nationwide, most of its sales come from only a few states like Punjab and Kerala. Royal Enfield would want to have more sales for the bike throughout the country, and for that, the company could reinvent the brand name with a more modern touch. It could get a suffix or multiple variants that would make the motorcycle more enticing for other states.
Pricing
The Hunter 350 is the most affordable Royal Enfield motorcycle at Rs 1.49 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai. While the Bullet 350 will sit above the Hunter, it would likely be priced at a reasonable distance from the Classic 350, which retails at Rs 1.93 lakh. The new Bullet 350 will likely have a starting price tag of around Rs 1.65 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai.
