- Triumph Rocket 3 GT India launch next week
- Is slightly touring focused
- Likely to cost around 18.7 lakh
Triumph Motorcycles India has revealed that it is scheduled to launch the Rocket 3 GT in India on 10 September.
The motorcycle is a touring focused version of the Rocket 3 R that is already on sale in India. To set it apart, the Rocket 3 GT offers a more relaxed riding position thanks to the forward-set foot pegs and touring-style handlebar. It also gets a taller windscreen, adjustable pillion foot rests, heated grips as standard as well as a slightly more comfortable pair of seats with pillion backrest.
However, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same as the R variant. It sports twin-LED headlamps, a cropped rear fender with slash-cut exhausts that expose the single-sided swingarm and rear wheel. The Triumph Rocket 3 is powered by the largest engine in a production motorcycle. This behemoth 2500cc, inline-three cylinder engine is capable of producing 165bhp of power and 221Nm of torque. And to put a leash on all that power, Triumph has fitted the Rocket 3 with four ride modes, a traction control system, cornering ABS, and hill-hold control. It also gets a Bluetooth-enabled full-colour TFT dash with GoPro control. While the Triumph Rocket 3 R is priced at Rs 18 lakh, we can expect the GT version to be priced slightly higher at around Rs 18.5 lakh. Nonetheless, both variants face competition from the Ducati Diavel 1260 in the country.
