- New Tuono 660 spotted for the first time
- Gets the typical Tuono styling
- Likely to be unveiled alongside RS 660
The world knows about the new Aprilia RS660 that’s coming next week at EICMA. In fact, there was an official teaser released just a few hours ago. What the world doesn’t know is that there’s another 660 motorcycle coming from Italy.
The name of that motorcycle is the Tuono 660 and it was recently spotted somewhere in Italy. The interesting aspect is that the spotted motorcycle didn’t wear any camouflage nor looked like a test mule. This makes us believe that Aprilia could unveil this motorcycle alongside the RS 660.
A close look at the picture clearly shows the typical Tuono styling. The headlamp unit and the flyscreen looks similar to the bigger sibling. The tail section has a bit of supersport taste to it. The engine details haven’t been leaked yet, but expect it to be a few bhp less than the RS 660. But Aprilia will surely load it with some latest tech and electronics to make it more enticing.
It’s obvious that there will be more motorcycles based on the same platform. So there’s a high chance of an ADV in the making and maybe a supermoto as well. Will this bike make its way to India? We think so. There’s a big market for such middleweight motorcycles and with the new 660cc platform, Piaggio India could definitely eat away some market share from the Japanese and British.
