- Ducati to reveal 2 new concepts
- Desert X, Motard
- Based on Scramblers
Ducati will reveal two new concept motorcycles at the upcoming 2019 EICMA. This announcement was made by the top honcho of the company at the global unveil of the new Streetfighter V4.
The two concepts in question are the Desert X and the Motard. The Desert X is based on the Scrambler 800. So it uses the same main frame and that will have the 803cc motor inside. If this concept does go into production, the Desert X is likely to get the same tech and features from the Desert Sled to make it more potent. In short, Desert X can be looked at as the 800cc version of the Desert Sled.
The second concept – the Motard, is based on the Scrambler 1100 and pays tribute to the Cagiva Elefant that won the Paris-Dakar in 1990 and 1994. This race winning motorcycle used the Ducati’s 904cc L-twin motor. In the case of this concept too, if the reactions are good at EICMA, Ducati might just put it into production.
We are honestly quite excited to see these concepts at EICMA. We believe Ducati is trying to make purposeful off-roaders like the Multistrada but it will be lighter and more affordable.
