- Delivers slightly higher power and torque output
- Reduces weight by 3.9kg
- Noise level remains similar to the stock unit
Exhaust system manufacturer, Akrapovic has announced a slip-on unit for the new 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa. The slip-on titanium exhaust system is sleeker than the stock unit, and it helps the motorcycle shed 3.9kg. In terms of styling, the Akrapovic unit uses a black-coated titanium outer sleeve. The link pipes are built from high-grade stainless steel while the end caps and heat shields are made from carbon fibre.
While decreasing the weight, the Akrapovic system also increases the power and torque output numbers. The system increases the peak power and torque output numbers by 1.6bhp and 1.9Nm, respectively. The motorcycle draws 187.3bhp of power and 150Nm peak torque from its 1,340cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor in stock form.
The mufflers, with a catalytic converter in each, fully comply with the Euro5 emission norms. The company also claims that the slip-on exhaust system makes the same 91.9dB noise as the stock unit. The installation time is claimed to take 45 minutes. Do note that Akrapovic has not announced this system for India.
