- Is the fastest production Honda Fireblade yet
- Sports a RC213V-S inspired styling
- Also available in an ‘SP’ variant
Honda has finally taken the wraps off the 2020 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade; one of its most anticipated launches this year.
The motorcycle borrows styling from the Honda’s RC213V-S and sports a design language that is more aggressive than the outgoing model. The twin-LED headlamps, multiple air vents and the sharp tail section complete its refreshed look. Moreover, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade gets winglets on its fairing inspired by the MotoGP bike.
Underneath its new skin, the CBR1000RR-R gets a new twin-spar aluminium frame for increased rigidity. And inside the frame is a new 999cc, inline-four cylinder that produces 215bhp; an increase of nearly 29bhp over the previous motorcycle. With a kerb weight of 201kg, the new ’Blade also boasts of a great power-to-weight ratio.
Honda is also offering a higher-spec CBR1000RR-R SP. The bike comes with semi-active Ohlins EC 43mm NPX forks up front and an Ohlins TTX36 Smart-EC monoshock. Meanwhile braking is done by Brembo Stylema calipers in the front and a Brembo monoblock caliper at the rear. Both models feature a titanium Akrapovic exhaust as standard. The CBR1000RR-R and SP are available in two colour options of Grand Prix Red and Matte Pearl Black.
While there is no information about its availability yet, we can expect Honda to launch the new CBR1000RR-R in India sometime next year.
