- Updated Aprilia SR160 launch tomorrow, 16 November
- To get cosmetic and feature updates
- Would cost more than the current model
Aprilia is set to launch the updated SR160 in India tomorrow, 16 November.
As the social media teasers and images reveal, the scooter would get heavy revisions in the cosmetic and feature department. In terms of styling, the new SR160 gets a redesigned front fascia. The headlamp is now sleeker and comes with full-LED lighting. The tail lamp is also LED and restyled as an ‘X’. Moreover, the handlebar cowl now features air-scoops like recesses and the seats are now split-type. It also gets a larger grab rail.
Apart from that, the new SR160 will also come with a fully-digital instrument cluster that is similar to the one on the SXR160. It is likely to come with Bluetooth connectivity and a needed update over the current semi-digital unit.
Its 160cc, air-cooled, three-valve engine is expected to offer the same 10.84bhp and 11.6Nm. Even the suspension and braking hardware are unlikely to be changed. Nevertheless, the styling and feature updates would call for a hike in pricing over the current model which costs Rs 1.08 lakh, ex-showroom.
