All-new Ducati Streetfighter V4 breaks cover!

- Naked version of the flagship Panigale V4

- Gets biplane aerofoils, latest electronics and full-LED headlamp with V-shaped DRL

- Higher-spec ‘S’ version also unveiled

With a slew of unveils ranging from the all-new Panigale V2 and the 2020 Panigale V4, Ducati has taken the wraps off its flagship naked, the successor to the Streetfighter series in the form of the Streetfighter V4. The motorcycle has been unveiled at the Ducati World Première 2020 and will be showcased at the upcoming 2019 EICMA in Milan.

Built on the foundation of the fully-faired Panigale V4, the Streetfighter V4 features a stripped-out minimalistic look with high-set wide handlebars. It gets biplane aerofoils mounted on either side of the large radiator that generates 28kgs of downforce at 270kmph to prevent the front wheel from 'floating' at a high speed and also the tendency to wheelie. Besides that, they also maintain stability during braking at the turn-in point and through corners. The all-new Streetfighter V4 comes with a petite all-LED headlamp unit accompanied by a V-shaped DRL that sits above it.

The flagship naked draws its power from the same 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 unit that powers the Panigale V4. The motor is tuned to produce a peak power output of 205bhp at 12,750rpm and with a kerb weight of 178kg (S version), the motorcycle boosts of an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 1.17. The power output can be further increased by upgrading the exhaust system with a full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust by Akrapovič, which increases the power output to 216bhp while reducing the weight by 6 kg.

For all that brute power, the Streetfighter V4 comes equipped with a host of electronic aids to keep things under control. It comes with a six-axis inertial measurement platform which detects the motorcycle's roll, yaw and pitch angles along with other systems that are offered on the Panigale V4.

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 will be available in the international market from March 2020. Expect the Italian manufacturer to bring the motorcycle to Indian shores sometime next year.
