- Base model FTR Sport breaks cover
- Gets upgrades to styling and features
- Indian launch timeline unknown
Indian Motorcycle has taken the wraps off the all-new FTR Sport for global markets. The new model replaces the FTR S and is positioned below the top-of-the-line FTR Carbon. That said, the FTR line-up still includes the base FTR and FTR Rally.
Now, the FTR Sport receives cosmetic updates that set it apart from the S. These include a seat cowl, new tank panels and engine sump guard. It also gets a fly screen that shields the new touchscreen TFT instrument cluster. This display consists of navigation and allows the rider to control the three riding modes that the Indian FTR Sport offers. You also get lean-sensitive ABS and traction control as standard. That said, Indian Motorcycle has fitted the new FTR with a new twin outlet exhaust along with tweaked front brakes and a new clutch for a better feel.
Apart from these changes, the new Indian FTR Sport remains the same as the other models with a 1205cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that produces 125bhp and 117Nm. Now, the FTR Sport will be introduced in international markets soon. However, there is no word about it being launched in India anytime soon.
