- KTM RC 390 images leaked
- To be launched in India soon
- Is likely to be priced around Rs 2.90 lakh
The Indian launch of the all-new KTM RC 390 seems to be just around the corner as official images of the fully-faired motorcycle have been leaked. While the 2022 RC 390 has been spotted testing on a couple of occasions before, the latest images leave nothing to the imagination.
To begin with, the new KTM RC 390 gets styling inspiration from the legendary KTM RC8. Hence it moves away from the sharp front end that houses dual-projector lamps to a single-piece headlamp flanked by large turn indicators on either side. The fairing has also been revised and made sharper than before with seemingly improved airflow. And the 2022 KTM RC 390, which gets a new sub-frame, will also come with a new tail section that features a flatter, and more accommodating pillion seat. As the previous spy images revealed, KTM has also worked on riding ergonomics, making it more upright and useable outside of a race track.
Apart from the completely new bodywork, KTM has also adorned the new RC 390 in an orange and blue colour scheme that is similar to the 2021 1290 Super Duke R. The motorcycle also features new five-spoke wheels, engine sump guard, and a stubby and rounder exhaust canister. While the RC 390 is expected to continue with the same 373cc, single-cylinder engine as the current model, KTM is likely to have made revisions to the engine to alter its performance. Nonetheless, it will come with an updated features list that will include a new TFT instrument cluster that would be similar to the 390 Duke.
As for pricing, we can expect the new KTM RC 390 to demand a considerable premium over the current model that costs Rs 2.76 lakh and come with a price tag of around Rs 2.95 lakh, ex-showroom. However, we would not have to wait for long for official details as the 2022 KTM RC 390 is likely to be launched in India in the next couple of months.
