- New Suzuki Avenis 125 launched
- Prices start at Rs 86,700
- Gets Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation
Suzuki has entered the sporty 125cc scooter genre with the launch of the new Avenis in India. The scooter is targeted at young buyers and prices start from Rs 86,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi). In this segment, the Avenis competes against the TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia, Hero Maestro Edge 125, and the Aprilia SR 125.
Talking about the design, it looks quite modern and sporty. The dual-tone front apron boasts muscular panels with a trapezoidal headlamp which is flanked by air intakes. The handlebar cowl accommodates turn indicators with a tiny fly screen. At the back, the sleek tail features a dual stripe LED tail lamp that makes the overall aesthetics quite chic.
It’s pretty impressive on the feature front with a fully-digital instrument cluster comprising Bluetooth connectivity. It connects with the rider’s smartphone and gives access to turn-by-turn navigation and message and call alerts. It also shows a host of information. Furthermore, there’s a USB charger, external fuel filler, and side stand interlock.
Powering the new Suzuki Avenis is the same engine that does duty on the Access 125 and the Burgman Street 125. This 125cc, fuel-injected engine churns out 8.5bhp of power and 10Nm of peak torque. It tips the scales at 106kgs which the company says helps in making it zippy. However, it’s worth noting that the Burgman Street weighs around 2kg lesser than the Avenis.
The new Suzuki Avenis is available in four standard colour options including grey, orange, white, and blue along with the most expensive MotoGP edition that costs Rs 87,600.
