Italian clothing and protective gear manufacturer, Alpinestars have revealed a one-off custom bike, called the Oscar at the GP of the Americas in Texas. The bike is built to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the company since it started back in 1963. Here is the detailed photo gallery of the Alpinestars Oscar-
The Oscar is built by Michael Woolaway at the Woolies Workshop in California, USA.
The bike derives its name from the Alpinestars’ heritage-inspired gear collection.
It sports a 60’s ItalianGP-like café racer styling with low-set handlebars, a narrow and long tank along with rear set foot pegs.
The fascia gets a flat-tracker appeal thanks to the flat metal cowl which houses a LED-projector headlamp.
It also gets a retro analogue speedometer located between the clip-on handlebars.
The Oscar gets a thumb rear brake that pays homage to Mick Doohan and a seat similar to Nicky Hayden’s Ducati.
Powering the bike is a 748cc, 90-degree, L-Twin engine from the 1974 Ducati 750 Sport, housed in a bespoke frame.
This iconic engine produces 62bhp at 8200rpm and was the base of all Ducati L-Twin engines that followed.
Apart from the Brembo braking setup, the Oscar gets its MotoGP spec full-exhaust system from Akrapovic and tyres from Michelin.
