- Aprilia SR Max250 HPE breaks cover
- Powered by a 244cc engine with 25.8bhp
- India launch unlikely
Aprilia has launched the SR Max250 HPE or the High Performance Edition of the standard model in China. And as its name suggests, it takes things a notch above the latter in terms of performance.
Powering the Aprilia SR Max250 HPE is a 244cc, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of churning out a healthy 25.8bhp and 22.5Nm. For comparison, we have the Keeway Vieste 300i sold in India that offers 18.8bhp and 22Nm with its 278cc mill.
That said, the Aprilia SR Max250 HPE gets the styling to match its performance. The large maxi-scooter features an aggressive body language with edgy creases on the front and side panels. Moreover, the tinted headlamp setup makes for an even angrier front end. Besides that, the SR Max250 also sports a large windscreen and spacious-looking seats for both the rider and pillion.
The feature list on the Aprilia SR Max250 HPE is quite impressive too. It comes equipped with a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster and two ride modes- Eco and Sport. You also get a massive underseat storage space and gets Aprilia’s traction control system as standard. A dual-channel ABS works with the 260mm front and 240mm rear disc setup while suspension is handled by telescopic forks up front and a pair of gas-charged shocks for the rear.
Now, the Aprilia SR Max250 HPE is priced at an equivalent of Rs 3.16 lakh in China. While it is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon, the scooter sure is an interesting option and would be a fitting rival to the newly-launched Keeway Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i here.
