-Aprilia GPR250 unveiled

-Unlikely to arrive in India anytime soon
Aprilia has taken the wraps off the GPR250 in China. The fully-faired motorcycle borrows the majority of its styling from the smaller GPR150 which is available in select international markets.
It gets sharp front end which houses twin split headlamps with an LED DRL in the centre. The GPR250 sports clip-on handlebars and rear set footpegs that would offer an aggressive riding position. At the rear, the motorcycle has a split-seat set up with a sharp tail section. The Aprilia GPR250 uses an aluminium twin-spar chassis that houses a 249cc, single-cylinder engine. This motor produces 25bhp and 22Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Aprilia GPR250 rides on17-inch wheels suspended from inverted forks up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, a 300mm disc brake for the front and a single disc at the rear take care of braking along with a dual-channel ABS.
While many reports suggest that the GPR250 will be Aprilia’s first small-capacity motorcycle offering in India, according to our sources, the manufacturer is likely to introduce the GPR150 in the country first. The GPR250 could be launched in the country later based on the response and sales that its smaller sibling garners. Nevertheless, when launched, the Aprilia GPR250 will take on the Honda CBR250R and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in India.
