Aprilia has partnered with the famous American helmet manufacturer, Skully Helmets to develop new forms of rider-vehicle interactions.
Aprilia and Skully will co-develop a new rider-vehicle interaction aid for Aprilia's flagship app, V4-MP. This multimedia system is on the Aprilia RSV4 and Tuono 1100. In addition to the features already offered by the helmet, the end product will have information available through the V4-MP system which will be visible on the Skully helmet visor.
Skully says that its helmet helps improve safety by removing the need to take one’s eyes off the road. The helmet provides information that can be recalled with voice command and then projected onto an area of the visor that is said to not interfere with visibility. It also features a wide-angle rear camera helping the rider to see what’s going on behind them without having to look in the mirrors or over their shoulder.
Skully sells the AR-1 helmet, which is claimed to be the world’s smartest motorcycle helmet. Priced at $1,499 (Rs 94,000) it is also one of the most expensive. We are sure some units of this helmet will be privately imported by some retailers in India, but expect them to empty your bank account by a great margin.
