- RS 660, Tuono recalled in US
- Issue with connecting rods
- New engines to be installed
Aprilia is in the process of contacting certain owners of brand new RS 660 and Tuono 660 in US. The reason they are doing this is because of some big issues with the engines.
According to a report, less than 100 motorcycles of this brand new platform will be recalled. There have been reports of connecting rods failures affecting some customers’ bike, which is a huge issue right now. In order to fix this problem, the Italian brand will replace the old engine with a new one.
The company will reset the warranty period of these recalled bikes after installing the new engine. Aprilia is expected to release more information about this recall in the next few days. It is still not sure if the bikes in other markets will be affected by this issue.
The Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660 are likely to hit Indian market sometime this year. Once it is launched, it is expected to bring in some good sales numbers for Piaggio India as there’s a decent demand for bikes due to their displacement, practicality and pricing.
