-Deliveries were supposed to begin in March
-Bikes expected to arrive in showrooms soon
-Test rides to commence shortly
The Aprilia RS 457 managed to stir up a lot of interest among enthusiasts ever since the bike was launched at the India Bike Week (IBW). At Rs 4.10 lakh, ex-showroom, the RS 457 is priced quite competitively considering the engine specifications and equipment on the bike. While Aprilia India has begun collecting bookings for the bike, deliveries of the RS 457 have been delayed.
The company had initially planned to commence deliveries from the beginning of March, however, after speaking with a few dealers we’ve learnt that there is an unexpected delay. The bikes are now expected to reach the showrooms in a few days and considering the time taken to conduct PDIs and RTO formalities, deliveries are expected to begin in April. Test rides for the Aprilia RS 457 will also begin shortly after the bikes hit the showroom floors.
The Aprilia RS 457 proved to be pretty impressive when we rode the bike at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. From the performance of the parallel-twin engine to its incredible handling, the RS 457 was a treat to ride on the racetrack. That said, we are yet to discover what it is like to ride the bike in the real world and how it manages to deal with bad roads and congested city traffic. A complete road test in the coming days will have all the answers.
As far as competition is concerned, the Aprilia RS 457 goes up against the Yamaha R3, Kawasaki Ninja 400 and the Kawasaki Ninja 500.
