- Official unveil slated for 20 September
- Prices to be revealed later
- Will rival the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300
Aprilia India is set to unveil its latest and most affordable motorcycle offering, the RS 457, in India very soon. It’s set to debut on 20 September and the official prices will be announced later. We also expect the booking to commence soon after that.
The Aprilia RS 457 was recently unveiled in the international market. The bike is based on the Italian brand’s existing offering, the RS 660. So, the smaller RS, too, gets a split LED headlight topped by a transparent visor. Then, there are the low-set clip-ons with the rear-set footpegs that make for a committed rider triangle.
Powering the new Aprilia supersport is a 457cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and it makes 47bhp. The motor gets a six-speed gearbox and also benefits from a quickshifter. Then, there are rider aids like ABS, switchable three-stage traction control, ride-by-wire, and three ride modes.
The RS 457 also gets full LED lighting and a TFT screen with optional Bluetooth connectivity. For reference, the new RC 390, too, gets all the above-mentioned features but they come as a standard fitment rather than an accessory. That said, the RC 390 gets a smaller single-cylinder 373cc, liquid-cooled engine with an output rated at 42.9bhp.
Aprilia has equipped the RS 457 with adjustable USD front forks and a monoshock. Then, its braking hardware includes single front and rear discs mounted on 17-inch wheels. These alloy wheels come with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres.
We expect Aprilia to price the RS 457 above Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will rival the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Ninja 400, and the upcoming Yamaha YZF R3.
