-Priced at Rs 4.10 lakh, ex-showroom
-Aprilia factory in Baramati is operating three shifts to meet demand
The Aprilia RS 457 is turning out to be a lot more popular and in demand than what the company initially anticipated. Launched at the 2023 India Bike Week at an introductory price of Rs 4.10 lakh, ex-showroom, the Aprilia RS 457 offered unprecedented value for money.
The company managed to price a twin-cylinder sportsbike so competitvely by manufacturing it in India. As a result Aprilia registered a large number of bookings in India. Aprilia is also using its Baramati facility to supply the RS 457 to the global markets. Owing to this the waiting period of the RS 457 has stretched to two months. Aprilia India is trying to match demand by running three shifts at its production line and produces close to fifty RS 457’s in a day.
The company hopes to reduce waiting times for the RS 457 over the next couple of months. The bike has been selling in good numbers in South and West India. The figures in the North and the East aren’t as big since the supply is comparatively less and it is expected to increase with time.
The Aprilia RS 457 brings a lot to the table for the money. Its design, features and engine apart, its performance and easy handling is what has clicked with the enthusiasts. It is powered by a 457cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 46.9bhp and 43.5Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter as an optional extra.
Since it is made in India, it enjoys a significant price advantage over its CBU import competitors. The Yamaha R3 is priced at Rs 4.64 lakh while the Kawasaki Ninja 500 is priced at Rs 5.24 lakh, ex-showroom. Besides the price, the Aprilia RS457 is also the better equipped motorcycle which again drives its value quotient higher than the Japanese bikes.
