The Aprilia RS 457 has won the country’s most prestigious motorcycle award- the Indian Motorcycle of the Year for 2025. It was followed by the Bajaj Freedom and the Hero Xtreme 125R in second and third place, respectively.
The Aprilia RS 457 was a part of the 10 motorcycles that were selected for the final jury round. These bikes were from various segments- modern-classic, sports bike, street naked and commuters as well. And interestingly five out of the 10 contenders were from the 400-500cc category - Aprilia RS457, Bajaj Freedom 125 NG04, Bajaj Pulsar N125, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, BSA Gold Star 650, Hero Mavrick 440, Hero Xtreme 125R, Royal Enfield Bear 650, Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 and the Triumph Speed T4.
Now, the top motorcycles are chosen after a detailed analysis of every aspect of the motorcycle to make it a great package and value-for-money proposition. More importantly, the top motorcycles have to offer enough value to be termed as a game changer in their respective segments and in the Indian market overall.
Priced from Rs. 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the Aprilia RS 457 has stepped up the game when it comes to mid-segment supersports motorcycles. With the modern tech, engine performance and buying experience taken into consideration, the RS earned the maximum points from the jury that consisted of senior auto journalists from publications across the country.
