- Aprilia RS660 launched in international markets
- Powered by a 659cc, parallel-twin engine with 100bhp
- Could be introduced in India by late 2021
Aprilia has finally launched the RS660 in international markets. The middleweight supersports is priced at an equivalent of Rs 9.66 lakh.
The Aprilia RS 660 was introduced as a concept at the 2018 EICMA show before the production version showed up at the 2019 show. It was scheduled to be launched around April before the pandemic turned things upside down. Nevertheless, the RS660 borrows styling from the RSV4 alongwith half of its bigger sibling’s engine.
Hence the Aprilia RS660 comes powered by a 659cc, parallel-twin motor that is capable of generating 100bhp at 10,500rpm and 67Nm at 8,500rpm. And with a kerb weight of 189kg, the RS660 has an impressive power-to-weight ratio. Aprilia will use this engine in its future models like the Tuono 660, Tuareg 660 and the track-spec RS Trofeo.
Packed in its electronic kitty is traction control, wheelie control, cruise control as well as five ride modes- Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge and Time Attack. Aprilia is offering the RS 660 in a choice of three colours- Lava Red, Black Apex and Acid Gold. While the motorcycle will be available in international markets before the year ends, we can expect it to make its debut sometime later in 2021.
