Aprilia revealed the RS 660 supersport motorcycle for international markets recently. It is expected to arrive in India sometime next year to compete against the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. Until then, you have feast your eyes on the Aprilia RS660 through this detailed image gallery.
The Aprilia RS 660’s aggressive styling is heavily inspired by its bigger sibling- the RSV4. However, the bike has a character of its own thanks to the sleek full-LED headlamp setup, almost underbelly exhaust and the lively colour options.
Underneath the fairing, the RS660 houses a 659cc, parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree firing order for the signature grunt. This motor churns out a healthy 100bhp of power at 10,500rpm and 67Nm of torque at 8,500rpm and is paired to a six-speed gearbox with quickshifter.
Apart from the quickshifter, Aprilia has also heavily loaded the RS660 with cruise control, three-level cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control along with five riding modes- Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge and Time Attack; all of which are governed by a six-axis IMU. The bike also gets a TFT instrument cluster as standard.
Using a dual-beam frame, the Aprilia RS660 rides on 41mm upside down forks sourced from Kayaba and a monoshock at the rear- both offering preload and rebound adjustability. Braking hardware consists of dual 320mm discs for the front and a 220mm disc at the rear with Brembo calipers at both ends.
