Aprilia showcased the RS 660 at the 2018 EICMA and globally revealed the motorcycle only last year. Now, the Italian manufacturer has also introduced the RS 660 in India. So without further ado, let’s tell you all there is to know about the Aprilia RS 660.
Pricing
Let’s start off with pricing. The Aprilia RS 660 comes with a price tag of Rs 13.39 lakh, ex-showroom. Now, compared to its rival the Honda CBR650R, the RS 660 costs a whopping Rs 4.5 lakh more. Nevertheless, apart from the CBR, the Aprilia RS 660 also competes against the Kawasaki ZX-6R that is yet to be launched in its BS6 avatar.
Styling
The front end of the Aprilia RS 660 is quite familiar now, thanks to the SXR 160 which borrows its styling from the former. It gets split LED headlamps fitted into the full fairing and a sharp tail section. Aprilia is offering the RS660 in three colours – Lava Red, Black Apex, and Acid Gold.
Engine
Powering the RS 60 is a 659cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 100bhp at 10,500rpm and 67Nm of torque at 8,500rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with quickshifter. The motorcycle tips the scale at 189kg and comes with a 15-litre fuel tank.
Hardware
Aprilia has fitted the RS 660 with Kayaba 41mm upside down forks up front and an asymmetrically mounted monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done by 320mm discs for the front a a 220mm disc at the rear with Brembo calipers at both ends.
Features
Aprilia has fitted the RS660 with a six-axis IMU that have paved way for cruise control, three-level cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control as well as five riding modes- Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge and Time Attack. The bike also gets full-LED lighting and a TFT instrument cluster as standard.
