Aprilia India recently launched the RS457 as its latest two-wheeler offering for the Indian market. The Italian supersport seems to have created quite a buzz and if you are planning to purchase one, here are a few things you must know about it.
RS600 inspired design
The new Aprilia RS457 takes design inspiration from its bigger sibling, the RS660. So, the signature split LED headlight with the transparent visor, followed by the wide and aerodynamic tank, and the split seat, look enticing. It comes draped in three different colour options – Prismatic Dark, Racing Stripes, and Opalescent Light.
Loaded with Features
Aprilia has equipped the RS457 with a bevy of features. It comes with full LED illumination, ride-by-wire, three ride modes, traction control, engine maps, dual-channel ABS with anti roll-over system, and a five-inch TFT with smartphone connectivity.
Powerful Engine
Powering the new Aprilia motorcycle is a 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. It makes 47.6bhp and 43.5Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The RS457 also benefits from a slipper clutch.
Swanky Hardware
The RS457 rides on USD front forks and a monoshock, both, with preload adjustability. Then, the brakes include a 320mm front and a 220mm rear disc mounted on 17-inch aluminium wheels wrapped in TVS Protorq tyres. The RS457 weighs 175 kg.
Pricing
The asking price for the Aprilia RS457 is Rs. 4,10,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400, and the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3.
