- Will feature racetrack-ready build
- Equipped with SC project exhaust
- Unlikely to be launched in India
After unveiling the RS457 globally a while back, Aprilia now seems to be working on the RS457 Trofeo as well. It will be the Italian marque’s racetrack-oriented offering based on the standard RS457.
While the Trofeo model inherits the same silhouette as the standard bike, its bodywork is slightly different. The panels are made from fibre glass to reduce weight and the bike’s front end also comes sans the headlights. The void is covered using small panels with vents for the airflow. The pillion seat is covered using a cowl and the lower side panels are different from those of the stock bike. While Aprilia hasn’t revealed any details regarding the tweaks of the engine, we expect the RS457 to use a slightly retuned motor.
As seen in the above image, the bike is equipped with a full-system SC-Project exhaust and the power figures could be higher than the standard bike’s. For reference, the Aprilia RS457 makes 47bhp and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. It gets an optional quickshifter, too. The Trofeo version gets adjustable suspension, new brakes, and tyres.
We expect Aprilia to offer the RS457 Trofeo only in the international market as it will be reserved for the Italian brand’s racing series. That said, the standard RS457 is set to make its debut in India sometime around the end of this year or early 2024. It will rival the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400, and a few other 300-400cc supersport motorcycles.
