- Aprilia RS660 spotted in India
- Launch in a few weeks
- Will be a CBU unit
Piaggio has been planning to introduce their new middleweight motorcycles – the Aprilia RS660 and the Tuono 660 in India. One such RS660 was spotted in India just a few days ago.
The picture was seen on Diego Graffi’s personal Instagram account. The top honcho was sitting on the bike and it looks like there are already a few units of RS660 in the country. This makes us believe that the launch of the RS660 is likely to happen soon.
The RS660 gets its power from a 659cc, liquid-cooled unit with 270-degree firing order for the signature grunt. This motor churns out 100bhp of power at 10,500rpm and 67Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. The power out is pretty good and to keep the rider safe, the bike is equipped with three-level cornering ABS, adjustable wheelie control, traction control and engine brake control which are monitored by a six-axis IMU. It also gets an up/down quick shifter, cruise control and five riding modes.
The Aprilia RS660 will go against the Honda CBR650R and the Kawasaki Ninja 650. In terms of pricing, the RS660 won’t come cheap as it will be launched as a completely-built-up(CBU) unit. In fact, there’s a chance of that bike becoming the most expensive in its class.
