- Aprilia RS660 teased
- Bookings to commence from October
- India launch likely next year
Piaggio has finally released the information of its most awaited motorcycle, the Aprilia RS660. The company through a teaser video has announced to commence bookings of this middleweight motorcycles from October.
Unveiled at the 2019 EICMA show in Milan, the RS660 is being positioned as a sporty everyday motorcycle. This is why the overall riding ergonomics is on the friendlier side and not extremely aggressive as seen on the RSV4.
Underneath the fairing, the RS660 houses a 660cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 100bhp. The manufacturer has equipped the motorcycle with an extensive electronic package which includes wheelie control, cornering ABS, cruise control, five ride modes and a two-way quick shifter. Moreover, it also sports a Bluetooth-enabled 5-inch TFT screen with two display options.
Suspension duties on the RS660 are handled by Kayaba inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile braking hardware is sourced from Brembo with twin 320mm discs up front. Aprilia is offering the RS660 in two colours- matte black with red and a purple with red paint inspired by the RS250 Reggiani Replica motorcycle.
The bookings for the RS660 is likely to begin in some European countries this October. We are expecting the deliveries to commence from early next year. In fact, Piaggio should bring this bike to India as it will be accepted quite well. But the pricing should be on the attractive side.
