-Production-ready RS660 to debut at 2019 EICMA
-Powered by a 660cc, parallel-twin motor
-Likely to arrive in India sometime in 2020
The Aprilia RS660 was showcased as a concept at the 2018 EICMA in Milan. Now according to source, the Italian manufacturer will showcase the production-ready RS660 at this year’s EICMA show.
The supersport motorcycle gets its aggressive design cues from the RSV4 1100. It also literally borrows half of the Tuono V4 1100’s, well, 1107cc V4 engine. While power figures from the 660cc parallel-twin motor are unknown, we can expect the folks at Aprilia to keep up the RSV4’s maniacal reputation going with the RS660. It will also debut the manufacturer’s active aerodynamic system which changes angles on the winglets to adjust according to the level of drag and downforce.
Aprilia was spotted testing the RS660 at the track in two variants; a race prepped and a street version. The race version could be used in competitions like the Isle of Man TT’s Lightweight TT category. The Aprilia RS660’ engine could also be used as a base for a streetfighter and sport-touring motorcycle.
We can see Aprilia launching the RS660 in India in the near future; most likely by 2020. It will compete against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R in the country.
