- Aprilia SR 125 will now be launched in January 2019
- Only CBS variant will be on sale
- Will be cheaper than the SR 125
Piaggio has decided to postpone the launch of the Aprilia SR 125 Storm to January 2019. According to our sources, the initial plan was to launch this scooter in India in time for the upcoming festive season.
The Italian maker decided to postpone the launch as it plans to introduce the scooter with combi-braking system (CBS) only. The initial plan was to introduce the non-CBS version of the SR 125 Storm in 2018 and later upgrade the scooter with CBS tech once the norm kicks in on 1 April 2019.
The pricing of the two-wheelers from 1 April 2019 is bound to increase. As per the upcoming law, all new two-wheelers below 125cc need to be equipped with CBS, and two-wheelers above 125cc should get ABS.
The SR 125 Storm is based on the SR 125 but it gets a different visual appeal. It gets matte paint schemes, smaller wheels and chunkier tyres. It is being targeted at the younger crowd and will be positioned below the SR 125.
