Piaggio has commenced the despatch of the first lot of Aprilia SR 150. With the scooters reaching select showrooms in six cities across the country, the early birds who had booked the scooter have now started receiving deliveries of the scooter.
For now, the deliveries have commenced in Pune, Nagpur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kerala. Each showroom in these cities is set to receive eight to 10 scooters each from the first lot. Piaggio had started accepting bookings for the Aprilia SR 150 in August for a token of Rs 2,000. Thanks to the scooter’s unique character and the lucrative price tag, each dealership now has a waiting period stretching from 30 days to 45 days.
While the remaining Vespa dealerships across the country continue to accept bookings, deliveries in these showrooms are expected to commence no sooner than October. Commenting on this milestone, Stefano Pelle, MD and CEO, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL) said, “The commencement of deliveries of the Aprilia SR 150 is a milestone moment for all of us at Piaggio India. With the Aprilia SR 150, patrons can now experience the racing heritage of the brand on Indian roads. It has managed to create a new category of crossover bikes in India and is receiving a favourable response from the youth of India.”
