- SR150 facelift has a part-digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity optional
- SR150 Race launched, RS-GP paint scheme and tall windscreen standard
- Limited edition Carbon gets all-black treatment with carbon accents and standard Bluetooth connectivity
Aprilia has announced the launch of a refreshed 150cc scooter range. Among the new products are a facelifted SR150, the SR150 Race and a limited edition Carbon SR150.
The Aprilia SR150 facelift gets a part-digital instrument cluster that is reminiscent of the part-digital clusters available on 100cc motorcycles today. An analogue speedometer dominates the cluster on the left, and the right houses the rest of the information in digital form, including fuel gauge, a clock, twin trip meters and an odometer. At the top and bottom of the digital bit are the warning lamps and turn signal indicators - a low fuel warning lamp is also part of the cluster now. While the orange lighting is great for night vision, in the age of reverse-LCD all-digital instrument clusters, Aprilia has missed a trick. We'd have liked the backlight to be a white one at least. The SR150 gets adjustable preload for the rear spring, which should help with the jarring ride it had. However, all SR150s now get a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity as an option, which allows owners to locate nearby service centres via GPS positioning. Riders can also 'find, navigate and follow their bikes', as per the company. There is also a 'Find Me' feature that allows the user to locate the scooter in a parking area. It is available in four new colours, matte black, blue, red and and white.
The Aprilia SR 150 Race gets the RS-GP theme for its bodywork, echoing the firm's racing efforts. Added to what the SR150 offers is a tall windscreen, and a retuned CVT. Customers also get a helmet whose theme matches that of the scooter. The Bluetooth connectivity on the Race is standard. The Limited Edition Carbon SR150 is a cosmetic version of the SR150. It sports an all-black theme with carbonfibre accents. The Bluetooth connectivity is available as standard on the SR150 Carbon.
Mechanically, there are no changes to the range. It continues to be powered by a 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates 10bhp and 11Nm. It sports large 14-inch rims with soft-compound tyres, and a front disc brake that measures 220mm in diameter.
The prices for the new SR150 variants are as follows:
Aprilia SR150 facelift: ₹ 70,000
Aprilia SR150 Carbon: ₹ 73,500
Aprilia SR150 Race: ₹ 80,200 (all prices ex-showroom, Pune)
