Aprilia has announced the launch of the disc brake variant of the Storm 125 in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 91,321. Here we list the top highlights of this variant of the 125cc scooter.
Design
The styling cues are similar to the drum brake version that is already available for sale in the country. Thus, the Storm 125 Disc continues to feature an apron mounted headlight, six-litre fuel tank, bold graphics and 12-inch black alloy wheels with wide cross pattern tyres. The scooter also benefits from a digital cluster. This version of the scooter is available in two colour options – Red and Yellow.
Engine
The Aprilia Storm 125 series uses a 124.45cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC, three-valve engine with electronic injection. The motor is tuned to produce 9.7bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 9.60Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.
Hardware
Apart from the addition of a 200mm disc brake at the front, the hardware on this new variant is similar to the drum brake version. Thus, the suspension tasks are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic shock absorber at the back. The anchoring power at the rear wheel comes from a drum brake while the safety net includes CBS tech. The 12-inch wheels are wrapped in 120/80- section front and 130/80-section rear tyres.
Price
The disc brake version of the Aprilia Storm 125 is priced at Rs 91,321. The drum brake variant, in comparison, retails at Rs 85,431. The bookings are open on Aprilia’s e-commerce platform and at the dealerships. Piaggio India is also offering benefits worth Rs 2,000 on the online booking of the new Vespa or Aprilia scooters.
