Aprilia has launched its most affordable offering in India, the Storm 125. The scooter is based on the already-existing SR125, albeit with a few distinctions in terms of styling and cycle parts. In that case, let’s take a closer look at the highlights of the Storm 125 and the differences it has over the SR125, in this launch image gallery.
The entry-level Aprilia scooter comes in a couple of funky colour options which include Red and Yellow. Notably, a white shade will be available at a later stage.
Accompanying these trendy shades are bold graphics on the front apron and side panels which blend well with the overall styling of the scooter.
The handlebar cowl on the Storm 125 is also blacked out, unlike the SR125’s body-coloured panel, which further differentiates the former.
Another highlight of the scooter are the chunky Vee Rubber tyres wrapped around the 12-inch wheels; these are smaller than the SR125 which gets 14-inch wheels.
The scooter features a twin-pod all-analogue instrument cluster which consists of a fuel level indicator, odometer and a speedometer.
Powering the Storm 125 is a 125cc, carbureted motor which produces 9.9bhp at 7,200rpm and 9.9Nm at 6,250rpm and, is mated to a CVT gearbox.
Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a single coil spring shock absorber at the rear.
Unlike the SR125 which gets disc brake at the front, braking on the Storm 125 is handled by drum brakes at both ends along with CBS (combined braking system).
Aprilia has priced the Storm 125 at Rs 65,000 which makes it Rs 8,000 cheaper than the SR125. It goes up against the Honda Activa 125 and the TVS Ntorq 125 in terms of pricing.
