- STX 150 spied in Goa
- It’s a 150cc commuter motorcycle
- Was showcased to see dealer’s response
Piaggio India recently held an annual dealer’s meet in Goa where it showcased a wide range of new motorcycles and scooters. The Aprilia STX 150 was one such vehicle that was presented to all its dealers.
The STX 150 is a 150cc naked entry-level commuter motorcycle from the Italian brand. It’s sold in very few markets, where there’s a need for such bikes. So, this bike can be seen in countries like Singapore and New Zealand.
Designwise, the STX 150 looks quite decent. It gets a sporty design language with a sharp headlamp unit, chiselled tank and large seat. Powering this bike is a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor. This motor is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The rest of the cycle parts like the suspension and the brakes are the ones that you find in any 150cc bikes in India these days.
The STX 150 was present in India to gauge their dealer’s response, which wasn’t positive. Even though Piaggio India is chasing numbers for its sales in the country, it’s highly unlikely to launch the STX 150 as it would dilute its brand value.
