Piaggio showrooms across the country have commenced deliveries of the Aprilia SXR 160.
The scooter was launched in India in December 2020 with a price tag of Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom). And though it is built on the underpinnings of the SR160, the SXR160 gets a maxi-scooter styling putting it in direct competition with the Suzuki Burgman Street. The Aprilia SXR 160 gets an aggressive front end with a tinted, tall windscreen and a full-LED headlamp.
Apart from the full-LED headlamp and LED tail light, the Aprilia SXR160 is equipped with features like a fully-digital instrument cluster- a first for an Aprilia scooter in India. Moreover, it also offers USB charger, and lockable glove box. The Aprilia SXR 160 is powered by the same 160cc, single-cylinder, three-valve, engine that powers the Aprilia SR160. This motor churns out 10.84bhp of power at 7,600rpm and 11.6Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. This is the same motor that powers the Aprilia SR160.
