- Aprilia SXR 160 teased
- Gets maxi-scooter styling
- Likely to cost around Rs 1.15 lakh
Piaggio has teased the Aprilia SXR 160 on its social media platforms suggesting that the scooter will be launched in India soon. This comes a few weeks after the company confirmed that the SXR 160 will make its debut sometime around November 2020.
For those living under a rock, the Aprilia SXR 160 is a maxi-scooter that was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. It has been designed and developed especially for the Indian market and will go up against the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 here. The scooter’s aggressive LED headlamp is inspired by the RS660 and is integrated into an angular front apron. The tail section is sleek too and houses an LED tail lamp.
As for features, the Aprilia SXR 160 offers a large and comfy-looking seat, an LCD instrument cluster, and a USB charging port. Powering the SXR 160 will be the same 160cc, three-valve, fuel-injected engine which propels the SR 160 sport scooter, although in a different state of tune. Coming to the pricing, we can expect Piaggio to peg the scooter at around Rs 1.15 lakh; a considerable premium over the SR 160.
