- Aprilia SXR 160 to be launched soon
- Will be offered in two colours
- Is powered by a 160cc engine
Piaggio India recently announced that the production of the Aprilia SXR 160 maxi-scooter will begin at its Baramati plant soon. With this announcement, the company also revealed a new colour for the upcoming scooter.
So, apart from the sporty red colour that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo in February, the Aprilia SXR 160 will also be available in a blue paint scheme. The SXR 160 has been developed especially for the Indian market and will go against the Suzuki Burgman Street 125. It gets a sporty design and even borrows styling elements like the full-LED headlamp setup from the RS660. Even the tail section is sleek and houses a full-LED tail lamp.
Powering the Aprilia SXR 160 is a retuned version of the 160cc, three-valve, fuel-injected motor that does duty on the SR160. In terms of features, the scooter comes with an LCD instrument cluster, USB charging port and a large seat. And while there is no word about its pricing yet, we can expect it to cost around Rs 1.10-1.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
