- Aprilia SXR160 to be launched in India next week
- Will be available in four colours
- To be priced at Rs 1.27 lakh
Aprilia is set to launch the SXR160 maxi-scooter in India next week. And while Aprilia previously revealed two colours for the SXR160, we now know that the upcoming scooter will be offered in a choice of four colour options.
Apart from the red and blue colours, the SXR160 will also be available in black and white colour options. As for its specifications, the Aprilia SXR160 is powered by a 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with three-valves. This is the same motor used in the SR160 and it churns out the same output- 10.84bhp at 7,600rpm and 11.6Nm at 6,000rpm.
Aprilia has designed the SXR160 with styling elements like the sleek shape of the full-LED headlamp borrowed from the RS660 that is to be introduced in India by mid-2021. And in terms of features, the scooter gets an LCD instrument cluster, USB charging port and a large seat that completes its maxi-scooter character.
The Aprilia SXR160 has been developed keeping in mind the Indian market and face competition from the only other max-scooter in the country- the Suzuki Burgman Street 125. As we reported earlier, the SXR160 is expected to be launched at Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing puts it at a premium of nearly Rs 24,000 over the SR160.
