- Expected to be launched soon
- Priced between Rs. 18.85 lakh to Rs.19.16 lakh
Riding on the success of the RS 457, Aprilia’s next big-ticket launch for India is the Tuareg 660. The motorcycle has been listed on Aprilia India’s website, with prices starting at Rs. 18.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The Aprilia Tuareg 660 will be available in three colour schemes – Atreides Black, Canyon Sand, and Evocative Dakar Podium.
The Atreides Black and Canyon Sand paint schemes are priced at Rs. 18.85 lakh, while the special edition Evocative Dakar Podium colour option is pegged at Rs. 19.16 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. For the uninitiated, the Tuareg 660 is the go-anywhere version of the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660.
While the RS 660 and the Tuono 660 use largely similar underpinnings and cycle parts, only the powertrain is carried over on the Tuareg 660. The adventure tourer uses a steel tubular frame and a built-in sub-frame that houses the 659cc, parallel-twin motor. The engine produces 80bhp at 9,250rpm and 70Nm at 6,500rpm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The Tuareg 660’s hardware suggests that it should be a capable off-road motorcycle. It gets 43mm full-adjustable Kayaba USD forks up front and a fully-adjustable Kayaba monoshock. Both offer 240mm wheel travel. Meanwhile, the electronic rider aids include a traction control system, engine brake control, multiple riding modes, and cruise control.
