The Aprilia Tuono 457 is all set to be launched in India in February 2025. According to a recent launch invite, the naked streetfighter will be launched on either 17 or 18 February. While we await its official launch and pricing, here's everything you should know about the Tuono 457.
Distinct styling
Unlike other Tuono derivatives from Aprilia, which carry nearly similar styling as their RS counterpart, the Tuono 457 sports a distinct styling. This is the first Tuono version to feature a bikini headlamp, and comes devoid of a fairing. It gets large tank extensions and boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The overall styling is quite attractive and sporty, and should help it stand-out from the competition.
Twin-cylinder powerplant
The Aprilia Tuono 457 shares its 457cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine with the RS 457. This motor delivers 47bhp at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm of peak torque at 6,700. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. This engine is refined and extremely tractable while also offering excellent punch throughout the rev range.
Features
Feature-wise, the Tuono 457 will get a traction control system, colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, multiple ride modes, and dual-channel ABS. It will also get LED lighting and a quick-shifter as an option.
Cycle parts
Similar to its mechanicals, the Tuono 457 will share its cycle parts with the Aprilia RS 457. It will get preload adjustable USD forks up front and a monoshock at the back. Meanwhile, braking duties will be carried out by disc brakes at both ends. It will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres.
Competition
A few Aprilia dealerships have started taking unofficial bookings for the Tuono 457. Once launched, it will primarily rival the Yamaha MT-03. However, it will also face competition from the KTM 390 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 310.
