- Based on the Aprilia RS 457
- Official debut at EICMA 2024
- India launch soon
The upcoming Aprilia Tuono 457 has been leaked ahead of its official debut at EICMA 2024. Although it is based on the RS 457, the motorcycle appears to sport different bodywork than its fully-faired sibling.
The Tuono 457 features a bikini fairing with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, while tank extensions replace the RS 457's fairing. Even the tail section is slightly different than the RS 457, and the overall styling is distinctive and offers a unique identity to the motorcycle.
Powering the Aprilia Tuono 457 will be the 457cc, parallel-twin motor that makes 46.9bhp at 9,400rpm and a peak torque of 43.5Nm at 6,700rpm. The engine gets a 270-degree firing order and comes paired with a six-speed gearbox. We have tested this engine on the RS 457 and are impressed with its refinement and versatility. The motor is tractable, punchy, smooth, and free-revving.
The motorcycle will share its underpinnings and cycle parts with the Aprilia RS 457. So, it will be suspended on USD forks up front and a monoshock at the back. It will ride on 17-inch wheels wrapped in Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres. In our experience, these are some of the best tyres from an OEM and offer excellent grip levels in both dry as well as wet conditions.
The Tuono 457 will make its official debut at EICMA 2024, while it is expected to be launched in India in early 2025. Aprilia could showcase it at the India Bike Week 2024. The Tuono 457 will sit under the RS 457 and is likely to be priced under the Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
