- Could be launched next year
- Based on RS 457
- Likely to cost around Rs 3.80 lakh
Aprilia recently launched the RS 457 in India with a price tag of Rs 4.10 lakh, ex-showroom. And given that the brand has its Tuono streetfighter in its 660cc and 1100cc range, it is obvious that a 457cc version would make its debut soon too.
The motorcycle already has a base in the form of the RS 457 and would come with the same engine and cycle parts. So, a 457cc, parallel-twin motor with 47.6bhp and 43.5Nm and hardware like inverted forks and monoshock are likely part of the package. That said, the Tuono 457 could also list the TFT screen with ride modes and Bluetooth connectivity as part of its features. This will put it ahead of its direct rival- the Yamaha MT-03. What will set it apart from the RS 457 is its design which it would borrow from the Tuono 660. This includes an aggressive front end with a split-LED headlamp setup in a bikini fairing.
Well, the Yamaha MT-03 is being brought to India via the CBU route which is why it is priced at Rs 4.60 lakh. The Aprilia Tuono 457, on the other hand, would be much more affordable with an expected price of around Rs 3.80-3.90 lakh. However, when compared to the KTM 390 Duke’s Rs 3.10 lakh pricing, the Tuono will be expensive. While all of it is yet to be confirmed, we expect Aprilia to launch the Tuono 457 in India sometime in the second half of next year.
